Up Chuck!!!
During the activity today let us know what was going on with your thoughts in regards to the way things where going, the way our classmates where listening to each other, your frustration level, and any other thoughts that will help us to learn about each other individually and as a group.

I thought the plan was actually pretty smart and well-organized, we just needed more practice to assure that the ball will be caught every time. :)
ReplyDeleteWe need to not give up on an idea so quickly. We need to let more people try so that when it gets around to everyone, we all have some idea of what to do.
ReplyDeleteit only got frusterating when some people were telling up that something wouldn't work, when we hadn't even tried it yet. It takes some time to get the hang of something. We just need to give it some time.

Yeah, I agree we just need to take more time to fine tune ideas, instead of quitting on them completely. I think once we practice a bit more we'll finish pretty quickly.

I thought it was going pretty well, just we need to stick to one idea and fully commit to trying to make it work before we give up and try another idea. also, we need to communicate better with the whole group because not everyone knew what was going on.

I thought the circle idea was good and that if people really paid attention and wanted to accomlish the activity, it would be a success. I also understand that even if someone does catch the ball most of the times, they might not catch it once and this could make the activity impossible. The second idea seems a little more simple though.

These are the times when everyone needs to know what's going on. From what I saw on Friday, a couple of people just didn't seem like they wanted to give any effort into the activity. Everyone needs to at least pay attention in order for the new/old idea to work.
ReplyDeleteAnd one more thing. This has been a problem we've been facing since the beginning of the year... some people just don't want to try new things! They automatically assume that the idea won't work without even trying it once. We really need to work on that.. haha..
I really hope we'll be able to finish it tomorrow! (or whenever we're doing it again)
Emi
I totally agree with everyone needing to try out new ideas because i heard some really great ideas but they just weren't getting heard. I thought we did pretty well communicating otherwise, everyone just needs to concentrate a little more.

I think people just wanted to keep trying the circle idea and didn't want to try new things. Communication was a little better because we did end up trying something else, but I don't think everyone understood exactly what we were doing.

we were trying the same thing over and over again. we got pretty far in the beginning with the circle idea and then it got complicated. i could tell people started getting frustrated and started yelling, but most of us listened and stayed calm (:

I think it was going well, but some of the problems were probably the skill wise. Some people have bad reflexes so people can't really catch. It's probably due to the pressure. I think we need to really kisten to other people's ideas more. We're still having that problem, but got a lot better though. Lets try to not feel pressure and not get frustrated
ReplyDeleteI just have a few thoughts about the lack of communication flow and respect. People just needed to respect other's opinions in order to communicate well and try new ways of completing the task. Many people wanted to resist the change to a new opinion, we could've succeeded but many people were close minded at first. I think we really need to work together for the best result instead of just individual success. The class needed to be more open and respect other's opinions and then we would've succeeded.

I think that it was a lot easier after you told us that you would move and give the ball to a different person each time. We worked well together and there was a lot of teamwork =]
ReplyDeleteWe didn't allot ourselves enough time to analyze the situation properly. People were shouting random things out, others were patiently waiting to give their idea to the group, and others just wanted to keep the orignal plan of just staying in a circle. When we re-try this activity, everyone should stay open-minded and try different things to get a better perspective of the challenge.

i wasnt there but i hope everthing went well!

I think our class didn't communicate very well. We need to talk as a whole group instead of just on side making all the decisions. It was very frustrating.
ReplyDeletewellll i think we could work on listening to everyones ideas a little better. i felt like we shut out a few peoples ideas that could of worked better than we thought. it was a little frustrating but i thought we were all trying so :) yayy. but next time we need to listen to all the ideas first.
ReplyDeleteNikki Kowalski
i think the circle wouldve worked if we kept at it but i also like the other idea too. when it was just a circle i want frustrated at all but then we started getting a little impatient so we came up with a different idea. i think if we kept up the circle we couldve gotten it before the period was up.
ReplyDeletemadeline
I wasn't here when we did this, but I still gotta blog..In any big group theres going to be different people who learn different ways and do things different. So in order get things done in a team you have to be patient and hear everyones ideas, which I think this class does pretty well.

i think that the original idea worked the best. No matter what we did i think it would take a few tries for it to work so when everyone gets frustrated right away its annoying, we just needed to commit to an idea and to me the first one worked best
ReplyDeleteWe need to be more tolerant of other people, and also take turns speaking rather than yelling over eachother because nothing gets done that way. But I think if we took a little more time to work on each idea, we'd finish up the challenge :D
ReplyDelete- Hannah Hyams
I think that everyone tends to yell and shout at people who mess up, this really bothers me. its not our faults, its an accident! we should be less convicting of each other in these activities. Its supposed to be FUN. :)
ReplyDeleteChristina z
i think we should all share an idea. i feel there is some kids that don't speak as loud as those who shout out and really have good ideas that aren't being shared! i liked it though!
