How is rappelling going?

After 3 days of rappelling, how is the experience as a rappeller, belayer, onlooker? Remember during this unit the expectation is for you to rappel at least 8 times. 2 to 3 times the regular way showing me you understand the technique, 1 or 2 times going upside down and recovering, 2 or 3 times jumping off the wall army style, and 1 or 2 times going down face forward.

  3. I think it's going great. My group members are definitely getting better at setting it up. I would say we're giving 90%, but I'm pretty sure we'll reach 100% and above very soon because everyone is starting to get along a bit better. We'll make it work like we always do.

I took a glance at other groups, too and i saw a lot of people who knew what they were doing. I think that's awesome! I hope everyone keeps up the good job!

  7. I repelled on friday! When I first got over the ledge it was really scary to lean back! I really had to trust my group and trust that they tied the ropes right. I think over time it will get alittle less stressful.

  10. I haven't repelled yet, but I think that my group is getting the hang of setting up all the ropes and webbings and etc. So the next time we repel I think I'll go ahead and try it for myself.

  12. My group got a lot better than before and were ready to rappelled. It's fun but at the same time tiring. Hopefully we'll get more people to rappelled and get ready faster.

MY group is really organized with the ropes. knots, and all the stuff. We are always ready to rappel. But even so i have rappelled just once. But i hope i could do more this week.

  14. It was scary @ first hanging off the edge but u need a lot of trust in urself before u can trust the people in ur group too. Then rappel away!

  16. It's going fine, and once we get over the railing and then lean back...then we're good to go. We just need to trust in what we've put up. But it's fun and I'm excited to go on tuesday!!!

  17. I haven't repelled yet, but i'm kinda excited to! as long as the ropes are tied properly and my group is awake, I think I'll be ok!! I think it's kinda frustrating though how long it takes us to get going from the gymnastics room sometimes!

  19. I really like repelling so far. its fun going down and setting up all the equiptment gives me s sense ofaccomplishment. I'm looking forward to the other stuff, but also sort of scared, going upside down will be weird.

  20. I already can't wait to go higher up. I haven't rappelled in a while so I'm a bit rusty. I like our group and I can't wait untill I go.

  22. I haven't actually repelled, but being an onlooker has been interesting, and my group is working well and helping each other out a lot with remembering the knots and how to set up and stuff.

  26. soooo i really like rappeling and i think it's actually a lot of fun. i was a little scared at first but after doing it once i realized it wasnt that bad. setting up seems to be taking less and less time each time we have to do it so we have more time to actually rappell :) im a little nervous to still do all the other types of rappeling though like going upside-down...haha not sure ill be able to do that. my group is doing really well and is very supportive which makes things a lot easier for everyone.

  28. Honestly, i can't remember how things went on the third day of rapelling. however, i can say that during the entire course of the rapelling unit, it brought me so much closer to all the other members of the class-since at first, i wasn't that ready to trust them with my safety. it has always been fun and i loved it!
